The dragon is a heraldic symbol which symbolises all things Welsh. Legend suggests that Vortigern, a Celtic King, was searching the land for a place to build a castle and settled upon the hills of Dinas Emrys. Merlin the magician warned Vortigern that the site on which the castle was to be build, laid two sleeping dragons. On digging the ground for the castle’s construction, Vortigern’s men found two dragons fighting- one red, one white. It is said that the red dragon won the fight which announced him as the dragon of wales. Crafted from high quality iron and finished in black, this house number sign contains an oval shape which can hold up to three large numerals. A wonderful addition to any Welsh home.
